GENERAL RULES

1.1 The A.G.M shall be held at 7.30pm on the last Thursday in January at The Railway Tavern, Station Road, Fishponds when the election of officers will take place, the club accounts submitted and any proposals put to the vote.

1.2 Committee meetings shall be held on the first Thursday in each month (except January when it will be held on the second Thursday).

1.3 Membership shall continue from May 1st to April 30th the following year.

1.4 All members are expected to co-operate in the preservation of the wildlife, flora and fauna at all club waters.

1.5 Unaccompanied children under the age of 14 years will not be allowed to fish any waters controlled by Alcove Angling Club. Children under 12 years of age must fish the same swim as, and use 1 of the 2 rods, of the accompanying adult.

1.6 An Environmental Agency rod licence is required on all club waters.

1.7 Members must carry their membership tab and appropriate rod licence with them at all times and produce them for inspection if requested by any bailiff, landowner or officer of the club.

1.8 Dogs only allowed at the Lido and Whitehouse Farm (see rule 3.5) and must be kept totally under control and on a short lead at all times.

1.9 Radios, tape recorders, guns, tins of any sort, alcohol and drugs are banned on or near the club waters.

1.10 All members must take their rubbish home.

1.11 Gates to all waters must be kept locked at all times especially when leaving the venue.

1.12 Any members contravening the rules of this club will be brought before the committee and will face possible disciplinary action.

FISHING RULES & CONDUCT

2.1 All members shall be permitted to fish with 2 rods only and from recognised swims on all waters.

2.2 When fishing with your lines in the water you must not be more than 10 metres away from your rods.

2.3 Micro barbed or barbless hooks only are allowed on all waters.

2.4 Keepnets are permitted all year at the committee's discretion. Members are requested not to keep fish in their nets longer than 6 hours. Any carp retained must be kept in a separate carp-safe keepnet and must be under 5 lb. Carp over 5lb must be returned to the water immediately.

2.5 Carp and pike anglers must use an unhooking mat. All members must use an unhooking mat for fish being unhooked or in contact with the ground.

2.6 No live bait to be used on any lake.

2.7 Pike up to 6 lb in weight may be removed at the anglers discretion but must be taken away from the lake. The taking of any other fish will be regarded as theft and appropriate action taken. Any unauthorised movement of fish between lakes is strictly prohibited.

2.8 Night fishing will be allowed at the Lido only. Anglers wishing to fish at night must book with Clive Scudamore 24 hours in advance. Fishing at night is done entirely at your own risk. For safety and insurance purposes they must be accompanied by another adult member. Juniors (12-16) will be allowed to night fish with a parent only and they must fish the same swim.

2.9 There are 8 swims at the Lido only for bivvies and tents. The swims are marked with a red block (peg numbers 4,7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21). No bivvies or tents in any other swims. Only one bivvie or tent to a swim at a time.

2.10 Members are permitted to fish from one swim for a maximum of 72 hours only, after which, they must vacate that swim and move to another swim.

2.11 Swims must be cleared 1 hour before a match and will not be available to pleasure anglers again until 1 hour after the match has ended.

2.12 All types of boilies are allowed on all waters but limited to 1 kilo per angler per day. Tigernuts, peanuts or any other uncooked particle baits are totally banned from use on any club waters.

2.13 Cereal grounbait may be used on all waters but limited to 1 kilo per angler per day.

2.14 Any member can invite a guest to fish with them at any club match, providing swims are available (priority to club members) with a fee of £5.00 payable on a limited basis only at the match secretary's discretion.

EXTRA RULES for THE CLAMP

3.1 The lane leading from Henfield Road to Serridge Cottage cannot be used for parking or access to the lake. This lane is out of bounds to all anglers.

3.2 Only 12 cars are permitted in the car park by the order of South Gloucestershire District Council. A maximum of 20 anglers only can be catered for at this venue.

3.3 The use of fishing poles and rods or any other implements exceeding 4 metres are banned.

3.4 No fishing will take place within 8 metres (measured along the ground) of the overhead electricity conductors.

3.5 Dogs are not allowed at the Clamp.

Match Rules

4.1 Draw to take place 1 hour before start of match.

4.2 Only 1 rod or pole can be used at any one time.

4.3 2 keepnets must be used, 1 for silver fish and a carp friendly net for carp up to 5lb. Carp over 5lb to be weighed at time of capture and returned to water.

4.4 In the event of a carp being weighed at time of capture the match will be stopped and restarted after the match secretary has returned to his peg. An time to added will be at the match secretary's discretion.

4.5 If a fish is being played at final whistle the angler will be allowed 15 minutes to land that fish.

4.6 No floating baits.

4.7 No fixed rigs.

4.8 Pike will count if caught on standard match tackle.

4.9 The match secretary's decisions will be final.
